Tracer appears on the cover art of the original Overwatch.
The image helped establish the game’s visual identity before its 2016 release. Tracer is shown in her recognizable orange-and-brown flight jacket, goggles, and chronal accelerator, making her one of the clearest symbols of Blizzard’s new team-based shooter. Her bright design also reflects Overwatch’s colorful, stylized presentation.
Tracer is not merely a mascot placed outside the game’s story. She is one of the original playable heroes and a former pilot associated with the Overwatch organization. Her signature ability, Blink, lets her teleport short distances, while Recall returns her to a previous position and state. Those powers reinforce her fast, evasive gameplay.
The cover can be confused with later promotional art for Overwatch 2, which features multiple heroes, including Ana, Tracer, and Brigitte. Reaper, Genji, and Mercy are also prominent original heroes, but they do not occupy the central cover-art role of the first game.
