The Harley-Davidson Fat Boy became famous after appearing in Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character, the T-800, rides a Fat Boy during the 1991 film. The motorcycle’s broad styling, solid cast wheels, and imposing silhouette made it especially memorable in the chase sequence and helped raise the model’s profile far beyond motorcycle audiences.
The Fat Boy belongs to Harley-Davidson’s Softail family, whose hidden rear suspension creates a visual resemblance to the rigid frames of older motorcycles. It was introduced in 1990, shortly before its major film appearance.
The film association is sometimes confused with other Harley-Davidson movie appearances, including the Panhead used in Easy Rider. Those are separate motorcycles and films from different periods.
