Which Guitar Hero II mode lets players rehearse specific song sections?
Answer
Practice mode
Answer
Practice mode
Guitar Hero II’s Practice mode lets players rehearse specific song sections.
It was a new feature in the 2006 sequel, designed for players who wanted to isolate difficult passages instead of replaying an entire song. Sections can be labeled things such as “Verse 2,” “Chorus,” “Bridge 3,” or “Gtr Solo 4,” and players can select different instruments and difficulty levels.
Practice mode also lets players slow the note track to Full Speed, Slow, Slower, or Slowest. Unlike a normal performance, the song does not end when the player makes too many mistakes, making it especially useful for learning fast solos and unfamiliar patterns. Bass or rhythm guitar parts are also available on supported songs.
A common mix-up is confusing Practice mode with Face-Off or Pro Face-Off. Those are competitive multiplayer modes in which players compare scores; they are not rehearsal tools. Career mode, meanwhile, is the progression campaign. Guitar Hero II launched on PlayStation 2 in 2006 and later appeared on Xbox 360 in 2007, with the latter adding songs and other content.
