Answer
Destiny’s Child
Answer
Destiny’s Child
Destiny’s Child featured Beyoncé as a lead singer before her solo career.
The group formed in Houston, Texas, in 1990 under an earlier name, Girl’s Tyme. Its best-known lineup consisted of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. Destiny’s Child became one of the most successful female vocal groups in music history.
The group’s breakthrough came with “No, No, No,” followed by major hits including “Say My Name,” “Survivor,” and “Bootylicious.” Beyoncé shared lead vocals with the other members, but she was particularly prominent on many of the group’s recordings and performances.
Destiny’s Child announced a temporary hiatus in 2001, allowing its members to pursue individual projects. Beyoncé’s debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, followed in 2003. Destiny’s Child later reunited for selected performances, including Beyoncé’s 2013 Super Bowl halftime show appearance, before formally disbanding in 2006.
