Which Greek Titan is punished in the Pandora myth through Zeus's retaliation against humanity?

The story behind the answer

Prometheus is the Greek Titan whose conflict with Zeus leads to the retaliation represented by Pandora's story.

Prometheus is famous for giving fire to humanity after taking it from the gods. In Hesiod's account, Zeus responds by arranging a harmful counter-gift: Pandora is created and sent to Prometheus's brother Epimetheus. The release of troubles from her container becomes part of Zeus's punishment of humankind and a continuation of the dispute with Prometheus.

The myth is therefore connected to more than curiosity. It belongs to a larger cycle involving divine authority, human technology and the unequal relationship between gods and mortals. Prometheus's name is also associated with foresight, contrasting with Epimetheus's afterthought.

Prometheus himself does not open the container. Nor is Pandora sent directly to him in the standard version; she goes to Epimetheus. Atlas and Cronus are Titans with other famous myths, but they are not the figures whose fire-related conflict with Zeus frames Pandora's creation.
