Which Greek hero was Pandora’s son-in-law in the flood myth?

The story behind the answer

Deucalion was Pandora’s son-in-law because he married her daughter Pyrrha. In Greek mythology, Deucalion is the principal survivor of a catastrophic flood sent by Zeus to destroy a corrupt human race.

Deucalion is traditionally the son of Prometheus, who in several versions warns him about the coming flood. Deucalion and Pyrrha survive in a chest or ark, then consult the goddess Themis after the waters recede. Her cryptic instruction to throw the bones of their mother behind them is interpreted as an order to cast stones from Mother Earth.

The stones become a new human population, making Deucalion and Pyrrha central ancestors in Greek myth. The story is often compared with flood traditions from the ancient Near East, but Greek sources preserve their own names, divine relationships, and explanation for the origin of the Hellenes. Pandora’s role places the flood story within the same mythic family as the jar narrative.
