Zeus is the final boss of God of War III.
The game builds toward Kratos's confrontation with Zeus, his father and the ruler of Mount Olympus. Their conflict follows the betrayal at the beginning of God of War II, when Zeus drains Kratos's power and kills him. Kratos then seeks revenge against the Olympian order.
God of War III includes major battles with several Greek gods, including Poseidon, Hades, Helios, Hermes, and Hercules. Those encounters occur before the final confrontation, which is why players sometimes name another Olympian as the game's ultimate opponent.
God of War III was released in 2010 for PlayStation 3. Its ending concludes the original Greek saga's central revenge story, although later games reveal that Kratos survived and began a new life in the Norse world.
