Which Grand Prix gave Lando Norris his first Formula One win?

The story behind the answer

Lando Norris won his first Formula One Grand Prix at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix.

The breakthrough came on 5 May 2024 at the Miami International Autodrome. Starting fifth, Norris benefited from a safety-car period that allowed McLaren to pit without losing the lead. He then held off Max Verstappen after the restart to secure victory.

It was Norris’s first F1 win after 110 race starts and his 16th podium. That long wait made the result especially notable: he had already established himself as a regular front-runner and had finished second several times before finally converting a race into a victory.

The answer is sometimes confused with the 2021 Russian Grand Prix, where Norris started on pole and led late in the race but lost the win after rain arrived. His maiden victory came three years later in Miami, not Sochi.
