Which Golden Globe award did How to Train Your Dragon 2 win in 2015?

How to Train Your Dragon 2 won the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film in 2015.

The award recognized the second film’s animation, storytelling, character work, and large-scale visual design. It was a notable achievement because the film became the first DreamWorks Animation production to win the Golden Globe in the animated-film category.

The sequel follows Hiccup as a young adult and expands the world beyond Berk. Its story introduces new dragon sanctuaries, Hiccup’s mother Valka, and the conflict with Drago Bludvist. Those broader themes helped the film stand out as both an adventure and a continuation of the original film’s emotional story.

The award is sometimes confused with Academy Award recognition. How to Train Your Dragon 2 received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature, but its major 2015 Golden Globe result was a win in that category.
