Which goddess was the goddess of love, music, and motherhood, often depicted with cow horns?

The story behind the answer

Which goddess was the goddess of love, music, and motherhood, often depicted with cow horns? Hathor was the Egyptian goddess associated with love, music, maternal care, and a horned solar headdress.

Hathor had an unusually wide range of roles. She represented beauty, joy, dance, sexuality, music, and motherhood, while also serving as a sky goddess and a protector of the pharaoh. In funerary religion, she helped welcome the dead and guide them toward the afterlife.

Her most familiar image is a woman wearing a pair of cow horns surrounding a sun disk. She could also appear as a complete cow, a cow-headed woman, a lioness, a cobra, or a sycamore tree. The bovine imagery emphasized nourishment, fertility, and her celestial connection.

Hathor is sometimes confused with Isis because both could wear similar horned headdresses, especially in later periods. Hathor’s major cult center was Dendera, whose temple complex includes one of the best-preserved surviving temples from Ptolemaic and Roman Egypt. She was also connected with Horus and Ra, reflecting her links to kingship and the sun.
