Which goddess aids Odysseus throughout his journey?

Athena is the goddess who aids Odysseus throughout his journey. In Homer's Odyssey, she is his divine protector, admiring his intelligence, courage, and skill as a strategist.

Athena begins by appealing to Zeus to free Odysseus from Calypso's island, Ogygia. She also encourages Odysseus's son, Telemachus, to search for news of his missing father. Later, she helps Odysseus reach the Phaeacians by influencing Princess Nausicaa and guiding Odysseus toward the royal palace.

Athena's help is often indirect or disguised. She appears as Mentes and Mentor, gives advice, sends dreams, changes Odysseus's appearance, and helps him plan his return to Ithaca. During the final confrontation with the suitors, she supports Odysseus and Telemachus while helping bring the violence to an end.

Readers sometimes confuse Athena with other gods who affect the voyage. Poseidon is Odysseus's chief divine enemy, while Hermes delivers Zeus's order that Calypso release him. Athena, however, is the goddess most consistently associated with Odysseus's protection.
