Which god brought Pandora to Epimetheus in Hesiod’s account?

The story behind the answer

Hermes brought Pandora to Epimetheus in Hesiod’s account. As Zeus’s messenger, Hermes delivers the newly created woman to the Titan despite Prometheus’s warning.

The episode follows Pandora’s construction by Hephaestus and the contributions made by other gods. Hermes is not simply a carrier in the story: Hesiod also associates him with giving Pandora speech and a deceptive character. His involvement reinforces the myth’s themes of communication, persuasion, and hidden danger.

Epimetheus accepts Pandora even though his brother Prometheus had advised him not to accept gifts from Zeus. That decision sets the narrative on its course and explains why Pandora becomes connected with the release of suffering into the human world.

Hermes is often confused with Hephaestus because both gods appear in the creation sequence. Hephaestus is the divine craftsman who forms Pandora from earth; Hermes is the messenger who brings her to Epimetheus.
