Which game had a new update announced alongside Splatoon Raiders?

The game announced alongside Splatoon Raiders was Splatoon 3. Nintendo revealed Raiders as a new Splatoon spinoff and also highlighted a major update for the existing third mainline game.

That pairing connected the new adventure to the established series. Splatoon Raiders shifts the emphasis toward single-player exploration, treasure hunting, and cooperative raids, while Splatoon 3 remains the competitive multiplayer-focused entry built around Turf War, Anarchy Battles, Salmon Run, and its story content. The update helped maintain activity in the mainline game while Nintendo introduced the Switch 2 spinoff.

The alternatives are easy to confuse because Splatoon and Splatoon 2 are earlier mainline games in the same franchise, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is another major Nintendo multiplayer title. However, the contemporary announcement specifically linked Raiders with Splatoon 3, whose characters and world—including Deep Cut—also connect directly to the spinoff.
