Which Game Boy system received Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team?

The story behind the answer

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team was released for the Game Boy Advance.

Its companion title, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team, was released for the Nintendo DS. The matched pair launched in Japan in 2005 and worldwide in 2006, making them the first Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games.

The spin-off differs from the main Pokémon role-playing games because the player controls a Pokémon rather than a human Trainer. Dungeons are randomly generated, movement is turn-based, and the player completes rescue missions while recruiting other Pokémon.

Red Rescue Team is notable in hardware history because it was the last Pokémon game released for the Game Boy Advance. Blue Rescue Team used the Nintendo DS’s dual screens and enhanced capabilities, while the two versions shared most of their story and gameplay. The pair was later remade as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX for Nintendo Switch in 2020.
