Which "Friends" star appeared in the official Bob Seger music video for "Night Moves"?

The story behind the answer

The Friends star who appeared in Bob Seger’s official “Night Moves” music video was Matt LeBlanc.

The video was released in 1994, nearly two decades after the song first appeared on Seger’s 1976 album Night Moves. Directed by Wayne Isham, it uses a 1960s drive-in theater setting and dramatizes the song’s nostalgic coming-of-age atmosphere. LeBlanc plays the young male lead opposite Daphne Zuniga.

LeBlanc had not yet made his Friends debut when the video was filmed; he later became internationally famous as Joey Tribbiani when the sitcom premiered in 1994. That timing makes the appearance a popular pre-Friends trivia fact.

The video also features Johnny Galecki, who was known for Rosanne and later starred in The Big Bang Theory, plus Natasha Gregson Wagner. Their presence can cause confusion, but LeBlanc is the only performer in the video identified as a Friends star. The 1994 production is also distinct from an earlier, unofficial 1977 short film for Saturday Night Live.
