Which Florida track hosts the Rolex 24 at Daytona?

The story behind the answer

The Rolex 24 at Daytona is held at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The race is a 24-hour endurance event for sports cars, run on the speedway’s combined road course. That layout links the infield section with portions of the famous high-banked oval, creating a circuit of about 3.56 miles, or 5.73 kilometers. Unlike a sprint race, the winner is determined by the distance covered when the 24-hour period ends.

The event began as the Daytona 3-Hour Continental in 1962 and later developed into the endurance classic now known as the Rolex 24. Rolex became title sponsor in 1992, and winning drivers receive a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watch.

A frequent confusion is with the 12 Hours of Sebring, another major Florida endurance race. Sebring International Raceway hosts that event, while Daytona International Speedway hosts the Rolex 24. The race also forms part of the broader endurance-racing calendar alongside the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
