Which Fleetwood Mac song re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 after a TikTok video went viral? The answer is “Dreams.”
“Dreams” was written and sung by Stevie Nicks for Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 album Rumours. It originally became the band’s only U.S. No. 1 single, but its most famous modern revival began in September 2020, when Nathan Apodaca posted a TikTok of himself skateboarding while drinking Ocean Spray cranberry juice and lip-syncing to the song.
The relaxed video spread worldwide, sending “Dreams” back onto streaming charts and radio playlists. Fleetwood Mac members Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks responded to the viral moment, helping connect the original band with a new generation of listeners.
The song re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 21 on the chart dated October 17, 2020, and later climbed to No. 12. A frequent confusion is “Landslide,” another beloved Fleetwood Mac song often used online, but it was “Dreams” that received this specific TikTok-driven Hot 100 revival.
