Which Final Fantasy game features the character Yuffie Kisaragi?

The story behind the answer

Which Final Fantasy game features Yuffie Kisaragi? Final Fantasy VII features Yuffie Kisaragi.

Yuffie was introduced in the 1997 role-playing game Final Fantasy VII as a teenage ninja, thief, and princess of Wutai. She is an optional party member, meaning players can complete the main story without recruiting her. Her encounter occurs through a random battle in wooded areas outside Wutai, followed by a conversation in which the player must choose responses carefully.

Yuffie's story is closely tied to Wutai's defeat in its war against Shinra. She wants to restore her homeland's former glory and obsessively collects Materia. Her distinctive weapon is a large shuriken, and her special Throw command lets her hurl items from the inventory at enemies. Players sometimes confuse her with Rikku from Final Fantasy X, a similarly energetic thief-like character, but Rikku is not Yuffie.

Yuffie later appeared in Final Fantasy VII's wider Compilation, Final Fantasy VII Remake's INTERmission expansion, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Those appearances expand her role, but Final Fantasy VII remains her debut game.
