FIFA 21 was the first game in the FIFA series released on Google Stadia.
EA brought FIFA 21 to Google’s cloud-gaming platform in March 2021, several months after the game’s initial October 2020 launch on conventional consoles and PC. Stadia players could stream the title without installing it on a local games console.
This release is easy to confuse with FIFA 20 or FIFA 22 because both games were available during Stadia’s operating period. FIFA 21 was the series’ first Stadia entry, while FIFA 22 followed it on the platform.
Google Stadia launched in November 2019 and was shut down in January 2023. FIFA 21 therefore occupies a specific place in the series’ platform history: it was an annual FIFA release adapted for Google’s cloud service before that service ended.
