FIFA 19 introduced the UEFA Super Cup as an official competition.
The UEFA Super Cup joined FIFA 19 through EA Sports’ UEFA licensing agreement, which also brought the official Champions League and Europa League into the series. The real-world Super Cup is an annual match between the Champions League winner and the Europa League winner, making it a compact but distinct UEFA competition.
In FIFA 19, the competition appeared alongside the other UEFA tournaments and received official presentation elements. Its inclusion helped make the game’s European club structure more complete, rather than limiting players to league seasons and generic continental fixtures.
Players sometimes identify FIFA 18 as the starting point because it already contained European club tournaments and many licensed teams. However, those earlier competitions did not include the official UEFA Super Cup under the later licensing arrangement. FIFA 19 is the specific answer for the official in-game competition.
