FIFA 19 introduced the official UEFA Europa League license.
When EA Sports secured UEFA club-competition rights for FIFA 19, it added official versions of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup. These competitions were integrated into Career Mode, standalone tournaments and other game content rather than appearing only as decorative branding.
The license arrived in September 2018 after the previous UEFA video-game partnership ended. It gave FIFA 19 official competition names, logos, presentation and tournament structures associated with Europe’s leading club events. The Europa League is UEFA’s second-tier men’s club competition, operating alongside the Champions League.
Earlier FIFA games included European club football, but they did not have the official Europa League branding under EA’s FIFA license. That is why FIFA 19, rather than FIFA 18, is the correct edition even though both games featured many of the same clubs.
