FIFA 20 introduced the interactive press-conference system to FIFA Career Mode.
The feature gave managers opportunities to answer questions before and after matches, with responses influencing team morale and other aspects of the managerial experience. It formed part of FIFA 20’s broader effort to make Career Mode feel more like an ongoing football-management story rather than a sequence of fixtures.
FIFA 20 also added player conversations, training-plan controls, and greater attention to squad morale and development. These systems connected off-pitch decisions with the condition and mood of the team, creating more consequences for managerial choices.
Later FIFA games expanded or adjusted these ideas, which can make the introduction date easy to misremember. The interactive press conferences themselves debuted in FIFA 20, released in 2019. They should not be confused with the separate cinematic dialogue systems used in The Journey.
