Which event served as the 2025 soft launch of the United States Semiquincentennial?

The United States Army 250th Anniversary Parade served as the 2025 soft launch of the United States Semiquincentennial.

The parade took place on June 14, 2025, in Arlington, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The date was significant because the Continental Congress established the United States Army on June 14, 1775, one year before the Declaration of Independence.

The event traveled from the Pentagon area toward the National Mall and included soldiers, vehicles, aircraft, horses, military bands, and parachutists. It commemorated the Army’s 250th birthday while also beginning public attention for the broader 2026 national anniversary.

The parade is not the same as the 2026 Independence Day celebration. It honored the Army’s founding in 1775, whereas America250 primarily commemorated the 1776 Declaration of Independence and the nation’s independence milestone.
