Which English king died at the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485?

Richard III was the English king who died at the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485.

The battle took place on 22 August 1485 during the Wars of the Roses, the dynastic conflict between the houses of Lancaster and York. Richard, the last king of the House of York, personally led his forces against Henry Tudor, Earl of Richmond. Richard was killed during the fighting, making him the last English monarch to die in battle.

Henry Tudor’s victory established the Tudor dynasty, and he became King Henry VII. His later marriage to Elizabeth of York helped unite the rival dynastic claims, at least symbolically. Bosworth is therefore commonly treated as the event that ended the Plantagenet dynasty and the Wars of the Roses, although some fighting continued afterward.

A common mix-up is Henry VII: he won the battle but did not die there. Richard II was an earlier king who was deposed in 1399, while Edward IV, Richard III’s brother and predecessor, died in 1483.
