Which engine powers Street Fighter 6?
Answer
RE Engine
Answer
RE Engine
Street Fighter 6 is powered by Capcom’s RE Engine.
RE Engine is Capcom’s proprietary game technology, also known as the Reach for the Moon Engine. Street Fighter 6 uses it to support detailed character models, expressive facial animation, large environments, and the game’s heavily stylized visual effects.
The engine helps Street Fighter 6 continue the series’ 2.5D approach: fighters and arenas are rendered in three dimensions, but the core matches remain a side-view fighting game. It also supports the distinct presentation of the game’s three main areas: Fighting Ground, Battle Hub, and the open-world-inspired World Tour mode.
RE Engine is not the same technology as MT Framework, which powered Street Fighter IV, or Unreal Engine 4, which powered Street Fighter V. Capcom developed RE Engine as a successor to MT Framework, and it has also been used in Resident Evil titles, Devil May Cry 5, and Monster Hunter Rise. Street Fighter 6 launched worldwide in 2023.
