Ed Sheeran’s song featuring Bruno Mars and Chris Stapleton is “Blow.” The hard-rock collaboration was released in 2019 as part of Sheeran’s album No.6 Collaborations Project.
The song grew out of Sheeran’s plan to make unexpected collaborations inspired by all-star records such as “Lady Marmalade.” Sheeran, Mars and Stapleton wrote it together in a Nashville basement. Stapleton supplied the guitar riff that pushed the track toward rock, a striking change of direction for Sheeran’s usually pop- and folk-oriented catalog.
Mars produced “Blow” and played guitar, drums and Moog, while all three performers contributed vocals. The single was released on July 5, 2019, and its video used an all-female rock band in place of the three male artists. It is easy to confuse the track with other songs from No.6 Collaborations Project, including “Galway Girl” or “Shape of You,” but neither includes Mars or Stapleton.
