Which distributor released Quinceañera in United States theaters in 2006?

Sony Pictures Classics released Quinceañera in United States theaters in 2006. The distributor handled the theatrical release of the independent drama after its successful festival run.

Sony Pictures Classics is a specialty film distributor founded in 1992 by Michael Barker, Tom Bernard, and Marcie McDonald. The company became known for acquiring and distributing acclaimed independent and international films, including movies that first attracted attention at festivals.

Quinceañera premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2006 and opened theatrically in the United States later that year. It is easy to confuse the distributor with the production company or the festival: Sundance showcased the film, while Sony Pictures Classics distributed it to theaters.
