Which Dior fragrance was introduced in 2015 with actor Johnny Depp as its long-running face?

The story behind the answer

Dior’s fragrance introduced in 2015 with Johnny Depp as its long-running advertising face is Sauvage.

Sauvage was created for Dior by perfumer François Demachy and launched as a men’s fragrance. Its name means “wild” or “savage” in French, and its marketing presented an open, rugged landscape as part of the scent’s identity.

Johnny Depp became the face of Sauvage in its widely distributed advertising campaigns. The association made the fragrance one of Dior’s most visible contemporary commercial products. Later versions, including parfum and eau de parfum concentrations, expanded the line rather than replacing the original name.

Sauvage should not be confused with Eau Sauvage, an older Dior fragrance launched in 1966. The two names are related in branding but represent separate perfume lines with different compositions and campaigns.
