The Mayflower Compact design appears on a quarter in the 2026 United States Semiquincentennial coin program.
The Mayflower Compact quarter is one of five special quarter designs planned for the semiquincentennial year. Its imagery recognizes the agreement made by the Mayflower passengers before establishing their settlement in Plymouth Colony in 1620.
The coin’s design shows two Pilgrims on the obverse and the Mayflower on the reverse. The Mayflower Compact is often discussed as an early example of a written agreement for self-government, although it was created by English colonists before the United States existed.
The other special quarters in the program commemorate subjects including the American Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Gettysburg Address. The Mayflower design is therefore one part of a broader series connecting different periods of American history.
