South Korea led the short-track speed skating medal table at Albertville 1992.
Short-track speed skating was contested as an official Olympic sport for the first time at Albertville, after its demonstration appearance at Calgary 1988. Four events were held from February 18–22: men's 1,000 metres, men's 5,000-metre relay, women's 500 metres and women's 3,000-metre relay.
South Korea finished with three short-track medals, including two golds. Kim Ki-hoon won the men's 1,000 metres and also anchored the South Korean victory in the 5,000-metre relay. His two titles made him the leading individual skater in the event programme.
The result is sometimes confused with South Korea's overall Olympic medal haul. The country won four medals at the Games, but one was a silver in long-track speed skating; the short-track table itself contained three Korean medals. Sixteen nations competed in the short-track events.
