Brazil has the longest winning streak in FIFA World Cup history, with 11 consecutive victories.
The run began with Brazil’s 2–1 win over Turkey in the opening match of the 2002 tournament. Brazil then won all seven matches in that competition, defeating Germany 2–0 in the final as Ronaldo scored both goals. That perfect campaign remains unique in World Cup history.
Brazil continued the streak at the 2006 World Cup, beating Croatia, Australia, Japan and Ghana before losing 1–0 to France in the quarter-finals. The sequence therefore stretched across two tournaments, from June 2002 to June 2006. A common mix-up is confusing winning streaks with unbeaten streaks: a draw interrupts a winning run but not an unbeaten one.
