Answer

Answer
United States
Which country has the largest economy by nominal GDP? The United States does. Nominal gross domestic product measures the value of goods and services produced using current prices and current exchange rates, without adjusting for differences in local purchasing power. On that basis, the U.S. economy remains substantially larger than China’s.
The American economy is unusually broad and diversified. Major strengths include consumer spending, finance, technology, manufacturing, energy, health care, and professional services. The United States also benefits from the international role of the dollar, which is widely used in trade, reserves, and financial markets.
A frequent source of confusion is purchasing-power parity, or PPP. PPP adjusts for local price levels and generally places China first by that measure. Nominal GDP is different: it converts output into a common currency at market exchange rates. The ranking can shift slightly with exchange rates and revisions, but the United States is the standard answer for nominal GDP.
