Arthur Fils represented France when he won the 2026 Cincinnati Open.
Fils defeated American player Frances Tiafoe in the men’s singles final, winning 6–3, 1–6, 6–0. The victory made him the first French men’s singles champion at Cincinnati since the event’s earlier champions from France, including Yannick Noah in 1982.
The 2026 title was the biggest of Fils’s career at that point because it was his first ATP Masters 1000 championship. He had already established himself as one of France’s leading young players before making the Cincinnati breakthrough.
Country labels in tennis results refer to the player’s sporting representation, not necessarily the location of training or residence. Fils’s official tournament listing identified him with France throughout the event.
