Which console was the original Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire released for?

The story behind the answer

The original Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire were released for the Game Boy Advance.

Developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, the games formed the third generation of the main Pokémon series. They introduced the Hoenn region, new Pokémon abilities, Pokémon Contests, double battles, and 135 new species.

The Game Boy Advance provided more graphical and audio capability than the original Game Boy. Ruby and Sapphire also expanded multiplayer possibilities, allowing up to four players to connect in certain activities instead of the earlier two-player limit.

The games are sometimes confused with their Nintendo 3DS remakes, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The remakes were released in 2014, while the original Ruby and Sapphire launched in Japan in 2002 and internationally in 2003.
