Which console was the 1998 Japanese game Pocket Monsters Stadium released for?

The story behind the answer

Pocket Monsters Stadium was released for the Nintendo 64.

The game launched only in Japan on August 1, 1998, bringing Pokémon battles into a three-dimensional console environment. It was developed and published by Nintendo and built on the battle system introduced by the Game Boy games.

Pocket Monsters Stadium supported the Nintendo 64 Transfer Pak, which connected the console to Pokémon Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow cartridges. Players could transfer compatible Pokémon, view them, organize them, and use them in battles on the television.

The Japanese release was more limited than the later international game called Pokémon Stadium. Only 40 Pokémon were available for battle in the original Japanese title, rather than all 151 from the first-generation games. The international Pokémon Stadium arrived in 2000 with more content and a broader roster.
