Answer
Microsoft
Answer
Microsoft
Which company's search engine is called Bing? Microsoft. Bing is Microsoft’s web search engine, launched publicly on June 3, 2009, as the successor to Live Search. It also grew out of earlier Microsoft services including MSN Search and Windows Live Search.
Microsoft introduced Bing with features such as query suggestions, related searches, and an “Explore pane.” The company later expanded it beyond ordinary web results to include image, video, news, maps, shopping, and travel searches. Bing’s technology has also powered Yahoo Search under a long-running partnership, which can cause confusion about who owns Bing.
Bing is not the same company as Google Search, Yahoo, or DuckDuckGo. Yahoo operates its own brand and interface but has used Bing technology for much of its search infrastructure. DuckDuckGo is an independent privacy-focused search service that can draw results from multiple sources.
In 2023, Microsoft added an AI chatbot experience to Bing, first called Bing Chat and later integrated with Microsoft Copilot. The product remains part of Microsoft’s broader search and artificial-intelligence strategy.
