Saudi Aramco’s 2019 IPO valued the company at approximately $1.7 trillion at its initial listing.
Saudi Aramco began trading on the Saudi Stock Exchange in December 2019. The company sold a portion of its shares to public investors, raising about $25.6 billion in the initial offering. A later over-allotment increased the proceeds to approximately $29.4 billion.
The company’s enormous valuation reflected its position as Saudi Arabia’s national oil producer and one of the largest energy businesses in the world. Its activities extend from upstream oil production to refining, chemicals, and distribution.
The IPO valuation and the money raised are separate figures. The valuation estimated the worth of the entire company, while the proceeds measured the cash received from the shares sold to investors.
