Microsoft is the company that owns the Bing search engine and the Windows operating system.
Microsoft is a technology company whose businesses include operating systems, productivity software, cloud computing, gaming, enterprise services, and online search. Windows remains one of the world’s best-known computer operating systems, while Bing is Microsoft’s search engine. Azure cloud services and Microsoft 365 subscriptions have become major parts of the company’s business alongside traditional software licensing.
Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded Microsoft in 1975. The company became widely successful after supplying an operating system for IBM-compatible personal computers and later developing Windows as a dominant graphical desktop platform. Microsoft’s public-company scale expanded further through enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, and acquisitions.
Bing is not owned by Alphabet, whose main search engine is Google. Microsoft also owns Xbox and LinkedIn, but neither brand is the company’s corporate name.
