Answer
Mattel
Answer
Mattel
Which company manufactures Hot Wheels? Mattel manufactures Hot Wheels.
Hot Wheels is a brand of small-scale die-cast cars introduced by the American toy company Mattel on May 18, 1968. The line was developed to compete with Matchbox, whose models generally emphasized realistic production cars. Mattel instead emphasized customized hot rods, bright finishes and high-speed play.
A common mix-up is Fisher-Price, which is also owned by Mattel but is a separate brand best known for preschool toys. LEGO and Hasbro are unrelated companies; neither manufactures Hot Wheels. Mattel also owns or operates other major toy brands, including Barbie and American Girl.
The original 1968 launch included 16 models, often called the “Sweet 16.” Hot Wheels later became both a children’s toy line and a major collector brand, with licensed vehicles, limited editions and special releases continuing under Mattel.
