Ganbarion developed the 2007 Wii role-playing game Pandora’s Tower.
Pandora’s Tower is an action role-playing game developed by the Japanese studio Ganbarion and published in Japan by Nintendo. The game follows Aeron, who enters thirteen towers to obtain the flesh of monstrous masters and cure Elena, whose curse is transforming her into a beast.
Its title draws on the Pandora myth through the ideas of transformation, sealed danger, and consequences that must be contained. The game is not an adaptation of Hesiod’s story, and Pandora is not the name of its central heroine. Instead, the title establishes a thematic connection to the release and control of catastrophe.
The Wii version was released in Japan in 2011, followed by European and North American releases in 2012. Its action-focused combat, timed relationship system, and multiple endings distinguish it from a conventional turn-based role-playing game.
