Which company developed Pokémon Sword and Shield for Nintendo Switch?

Game Freak developed Pokémon Sword and Shield for Nintendo Switch.

Sword and Shield are the first main-series Pokémon games made specifically for the Nintendo Switch. They were released worldwide on November 15, 2019, and introduced the Galar region, which is inspired by the geography and culture of the United Kingdom.

Game Freak is the development studio founded by Satoshi Tajiri and Ken Sugimori. It has developed the core Pokémon role-playing games since the original Pokémon Red and Green. Nintendo published Sword and Shield, while The Pokémon Company handled the wider franchise business.

Creatures is sometimes named as the developer because it helps with Pokémon models and other franchise projects. However, the core games themselves are credited to Game Freak. Sword and Shield later received downloadable expansions collected in the Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass.
