The Coldplay EP released in 2017 was Kaleidoscope EP. It arrived worldwide on 14 July 2017 as a companion release to the band’s 2015 studio album A Head Full of Dreams.

Coldplay announced the EP title in November 2016, borrowing it from the “Kaleidoscope” interlude on A Head Full of Dreams. The release included “Hypnotised,” “All I Can Think About Is You,” “Aliens,” “Miracles (Someone Special)” and “Something Just Like This (Tokyo Remix).” The latter features The Chainsmokers, while “Miracles” includes Big Sean.

A frequent source of confusion is the band’s other short releases. Safety dates from 1998, The Blue Room from 1999, and Prospekt’s March from 2008. Kaleidoscope EP belongs to the A Head Full of Dreams era and was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2018 Grammy Awards.
