Boston is scheduled as the final port call in the 2026 Operation Sail America250 itinerary.
The planned 2026 tall-ship itinerary begins in New Orleans, followed by Norfolk, Baltimore, New York City, and Boston. The Boston visit is scheduled for July 11–16, after the fleet’s New York call around Independence Day.
Operation Sail, often called OpSail, brings sailing ships and naval vessels together for maritime celebrations and races. The 2026 program is intended to honor the 250th anniversary of American independence and is expected to be the largest tall-ship gathering since 1976.
Boston’s role is historically significant because the city was central to the American Revolution. Events connected with the Siege of Boston and the evacuation of British forces are among the major Revolutionary-era stories associated with the city.
