Dubai hosts the annual New Year's Eve fireworks and light shows centered on the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building.
The Burj Khalifa stands in Downtown Dubai and has become the visual centerpiece of the emirate's New Year's Eve celebrations. Productions have combined fireworks with LED displays, lasers, music, and choreographed effects across the tower's facade. Large crowds gather around the building and the nearby Dubai Fountain, while the spectacle is also broadcast internationally.
The tower opened to the public in 2010 and was officially inaugurated on January 4 of that year. Its height and illuminated exterior make it particularly suited to a vertical multimedia display.
Dubai's show can change from year to year, so descriptions such as “fireworks” may also include projections, lasers, or drones. The city is the answer because the Burj Khalifa is located in Dubai, not in the neighboring emirate of Abu Dhabi.
