Which city hosted the first NHL All-Star Game?

Toronto hosted the first NHL All-Star Game. The game was played at Maple Leaf Gardens on October 13, 1947, with the Toronto Maple Leafs facing a team of NHL All-Stars.

The All-Stars won 4–3 before 14,169 spectators. Toronto’s roster included players such as Syl Apps, Ted Kennedy and Turk Broda, while the visiting All-Star team featured stars including Maurice Richard, Max Bentley, Bill Quackenbush and Frank Brimsek.

There is an important historical distinction behind this question. The NHL had staged earlier benefit contests involving All-Star selections, including the 1934 Ace Bailey Benefit Game, also held in Toronto.
