Which city hosted the conference that produced the Allied declaration demanding Japan's surrender in 1945?

The story behind the answer

Potsdam hosted the conference that produced the Allied declaration demanding Japan's surrender in 1945.

The Potsdam Conference took place from July 17 to August 2, 1945, in Potsdam, Germany, near Berlin. The United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union discussed the administration of defeated Germany and wider plans for postwar Europe.

On July 26, the United States, Britain, and China issued the Potsdam Declaration. Although the document is named for the conference, the Soviet Union did not sign it at that time because it had not yet entered the war against Japan.

Japan eventually accepted the declaration after the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings and the Soviet entry into the Pacific War. The declaration's terms formed the diplomatic basis for the surrender announced on August 15 and signed on September 2.
