New York City hosted Sail250, the U.S. Navy’s international fleet review for America250.
The review took place in New York Harbor on July 4, 2026, as part of the semiquincentennial celebrations. It incorporated Operation Sail 2026, continuing a tradition of major maritime gatherings associated with American anniversaries.
Sail250 was expected to involve about 60 ships from 30 countries, making it the largest maritime gathering in United States history. The international participation reflected the anniversary’s broad public and diplomatic character rather than focusing only on land-based ceremonies.
New York City was one of several important ports connected with Operation Sail 2026. Tall ships and naval vessels were also scheduled to visit New Orleans, Norfolk, Baltimore, and Boston. Those locations can be mistaken for the host city, but the international fleet review itself was staged in New York Harbor.
