Which circuit is the home of the MotoGP Italian Grand Prix?

The story behind the answer

The circuit that is home to the MotoGP Italian Grand Prix is Mugello Circuit.

Located in Scarperia e San Piero in Tuscany, Mugello is officially known as the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello. The track measures 5.245 kilometres, features 15 corners and includes a 1.141-kilometre main straight—one reason it is admired for high-speed racing and close slipstream battles.

Mugello became the regular venue for Italy’s motorcycle Grand Prix from 1994 onward, although the race has historically visited other circuits, including Monza, Imola and Misano. The 2020 Italian Grand Prix was cancelled during the COVID-19-disrupted season, so “home” means the established modern venue rather than the only circuit ever used.

The circuit is also closely associated with Ferrari, which has owned it since 1988 and used it for Formula One testing. In 2020, Mugello hosted Formula One’s Tuscan Grand Prix, Ferrari’s 1,000th World Championship Grand Prix.
