The Horse represents the Chinese zodiac year beginning on February 17, 2026. That date is Lunar New Year, when the Year of the Fire Horse begins in the traditional Chinese calendar.
Chinese zodiac years do not align exactly with Gregorian calendar years. The Horse year starts after the final day of the preceding Snake year, so someone born in early February 2026 may still belong to the Snake sign, depending on the calendar convention being used.
The Horse is the seventh animal in the standard zodiac order. Traditional East Asian interpretations commonly connect it with energy, independence, enthusiasm, and movement. These associations are part of folklore and astrology, not established personality science.
The 2026 combination is especially notable because it joins the Horse with Fire. Animal-element combinations recur every 60 years, making the same Fire Horse pairing last appear in 1966.
