Which Chinese railway bridge is the world's longest, stretching about 165 kilometres?

The story behind the answer

The Danyang–Kunshan Grand Bridge is the world's longest bridge, carrying China's Beijing–Shanghai high-speed railway.

The viaduct stretches approximately 164.8 kilometres between Danyang and Kunshan in Jiangsu Province. It opened in 2011 as part of the Beijing–Shanghai high-speed railway, one of China's major passenger rail corridors.

Much of the bridge crosses low-lying rice fields, waterways, lakes and canals. Building the railway on a continuous elevated structure helped keep the line level and reduced the need for numerous separate embankments and crossings.

It is often confused with China's longest sea-crossing structures, such as the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge. The Danyang–Kunshan structure is primarily a railway viaduct, and Guinness World Records lists it as the longest bridge of any kind.
